Dr Daniel Hlinka has been helping couples fulfill their dreams of having their own family when natural conception is not possible, for over 35 years. He is a pioneer in the field of human embryology. In 1993, he was behind the fertilisation of the first child using the ICSI method in the Czech Republic. During his clinical practice he has brought many innovations into the field of infertility treatment, which have become a part of the standard procedures in the most of Czech IVF clinics. Today he is applying his experience in his own clinic.

Conception of the 1st child using ICSI in our country
In 1993, Dr Hlinka was the first in the Czech Republic and Slovakia to successfully fertilise a female egg using the ICSI method. Under the microscope, a pre-selected sperm was injected into the egg.

Birth of the 1st child using MESA/TESE in our country
Dr Hlinka contributed to a significant innovation for men with obstructive azoospermia. With his assistance, the MESA and TESE methods were introduced, which involve surgically retrieving sperm from the testicle or epididymis.
Birth of the 1st child using vitrification in our country
Dr Hlinka contributed to the implementation of vitrification in assisted reproduction, which provided a much gentler preservation method for embryos. Embryos can be vitrified at any stage of development, from oocytes to blastocysts.

Introduction of embryo biopsy method
Between 1996 and 2004, Dr Hlinka significantly contributed to the introduction of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, now known as preimplantation genetic testing, into clinical practice.
Development of the Swim-out method
For cases of extremely low sperm concentration, Dr Hlinka developed the Swim-out method, which involves selecting sperm based on their spontaneous motility.

Establishment of the Prague Fertility Centre
In 2009, Dr Hlinka, along with Dr Lazarovská, decided to establish the Prague Fertility Centre after their joint work in one of the first assisted reproduction centres in the Czech Republic. After 12 years of successful operation, Dr Hlinka left the clinic and devoted his time fully to science and innovation.
Introduction of Time-lapse technology
His work at the PFC clinic in Prague made him one of the pioneers among embryologists worldwide to introduce continuous embryo monitoring using the Time-lapse system. This method allows embryologists to have a comprehensive overview of the development of each specific embryo without the need for manual manipulation.

Creation of the Fertilitypedia educational website
A couple undergoing fertility treatment should have access to the maximum amount of relevant information to make sound decisions. Implementation of the Optim ICSI methodology in clinical practice
With the use of polarisation microscopy, the Optim ICSI method allows for precise recognition of when the oocyte is sufficiently mature and ready for fertilisation. This maximises the number of high-quality embryos in a given cycle.

Commencement of development and certification of the CATI system
Since 2016, Dr. Hlinka has been developing a revolutionary tool in infertility treatment - a non-invasive embryo assessment system called CATI. The selection algorithm of Dr. Hlinka's CATI is based on comparisons with a database containing records of 20,000 embryos with known genetic testing. CATI can non-invasively select which embryos offer couples the highest chance of a successful pregnancy and demonstrate minimal risk of genetic abnormalities.
Establishment of the CLAYO CLINIC IVF Centre

"Over 20 years ago, I introduced the rule 'fight for every embryo,' and I still adhere to it."
Daniel Hlinka is a pioneer in human embryology in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In 1993, he was the first person to successfully fertilise a human egg using the ICSI method (where a selected sperm is injected into the egg under a microscope), and since then, he has gained experience as an embryologist in several leading assisted reproduction clinics.
In the field of embryology, Dr Hlinka is known for introducing micromanipulation methods and other progressive technological innovations into practice. Some examples include the analysis of embryo development using Time-lapse imaging and the OptimICSI method, which helps precisely determine the optimal stage of oocyte maturation.
In 2009, he co-founded the Prague Fertility Centre in Prague. Over the past three years, he has been actively involved in the development of the CATI (Cognitive Automation of Time-lapse Images) AI system, which non-invasively monitors, evaluates, and selects the most suitable embryos, significantly increasing the chances of pregnancy.

Dr Radka Jarošová is the head physician of the IVF programme at CLAYO CLINIC. She graduated from the First Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in Prague and obtained her first certification in the field of gynaecology and obstetrics in 2004.
She is a respected specialist in her field and has been dedicated to infertility and IVF for nearly 20 years. Thanks to her experience and empathy, she achieves a high success rate in treating her patients.
Dr Jarošová is a co-author of numerous scientific studies and publications. She enjoys tennis, skiing, travelling, and spending time with her two children.

Over more than twenty years of practice, MUDr. Martin Hrehorčák, Ph.D., has helped thousands of couples struggling with infertility, including an Arab princess and her husband. "It never occurred to me to dismiss anyone for being young, old, thin. or fat. The important thing is not to make judgments. Starting a family is a decision that concerns only the prospective parents. Of course, there are some limits, but my task is to do everything to ensure that women leave our clinic pregnant and satisfied," says Dr. Hrehorčák.
MUDr. Martin Hrehorčák, Ph.D., graduated in 1997 from the First Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in Prague. He further deepened his education and experience in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology at the Motol University Hospital and Charles University in Prague. The personal and professional journey of the doctor took Dr. Hrehorčák to the United Kingdom, where he worked at the City Fertility IVF center in London, eventually becoming the head of the clinic. As an expert in infertility and gynecology, he participates in congresses worldwide and lectures mainly on his own research in the field of reproductive medicine and gynecologic oncology. MUDr. Martin Hrehorčák is listed on the GMC specialists list – a British association focused on improving medical education. And he was appointed as a transvaginal ultrasound instructor by the British Fertility Society (BFS).
MUDr. Jan Šulc

Doctor Šulc, with his friend MUDr. Miloš Čekal, were one of the first in post-revolutionary Czechoslovakia who founded a private gynecological practice. In 1994 they started an in vitro fertilization program and 4 years later they opened the GEST Reproductive Medicine Center in Prague 5.
He devoted almost his entire professional life to the treatment of infertility and running his own clinic, and he continues to practice in retirement.
When he's not prescribing, he relaxes with a good movie, rock music from 70´ or with a book. All ideally in combination with a quality white wine. But you can also meet him on snowy ski slopes or clay courts.

Petra started her career as a nurse. However, her work experience led her to a reproductive clinic where she started as an IVF treatment coordinator for foreign patients. Eventually she became the head of the foreign department and was in charge of the donation program. As her experience grew, she gained more responsibility as a clinic manager. In the same year she successfully passed her MBA management degree.

Thanks to this, Zuzana met her husband Dr Hlinka in 2001. A few years later, they went through the process of IVF treatment, from which their twins were born, created directly in Dr Hlinka's laboratory.
Both of them know how demanding the process can be for patients and their loved ones. That was also the impetus for the creation of a new clinic where the couple can utilise all their experience in infertility treatment. Creating new life for Zuzana is definitely not just a job. It is a passion she shares with her husband.

Mirna has been working with couples who travel to Czech Republic for IVF treatment since 2006. During last 15+ years, she has assisted many couples in choosing the right clinic, preparing for the treatment, both phisically and emotionally and has provided support in all phases of pre and post treatment. Journey to parenthood is more than - which medicine to take on which day?, it is a set of months long preparation, communication, planning each aspect from travelling to medical protocol and final visit to the clinic to see their embryos, future children.
Apart from working with individuals, Mirna's extensive experience has led her to further explore cooperation with international clinics, doctors, agencies, and associations in order to provide the best possible services to patients. Becasue successful treatment often means cooperating with local doctors to provide the best and in-time service for the future parents.
Mirna is a mother of two boys. She is also a strong advocate of the social freezing method as an option for women to preserve fertility and eliminate stress associated with the biological clock. Hrachuhi Arakelyan comes from Armenia. She moved to Prague in 1999 with her two now adult sons, and has made it her second home.
She has been working in the field of assisted reproduction since 2006. Being a coordinator is not just a job for her. Accompanying couples on their journey and helping them navigate the world of IVF quickly became an integral part of her life. According to her, artificial insemination can help many couples, they just need to believe and trust. Her priority is for every couple under her care to feel safe above all else.
